FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE...! Found in an estate liquidation on Madeira Island Portugal, that of a family with ties to the Netherlands. Purchased decades ago in Denmark and used primarily in a plate rack as decoration and display. Bing & Grondahl Kjobenhavn Danmark deep dinner plate in the Saxon Flowers pattern. The plate has a gold edge with a fluted rim and measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter. The floral bouquet is hand painted, the body of the plate milk white. It has survived free of chips, cracks, dishwasher burn or cutlery marks. A scar in the back stamp would identify this as second factory, however, no visible evidence of any issues.
